SBDS Western Cape offers the full range of quantity surveying and construction cost management services from the inception and design stage through to the final account preparation and supplementary services (including the final cost analysis). 

Services provided include:

  • initial and on-going estimates and valuations

  • viability studies

  • procurement documentation and procedures

  • contract administration

  • statistical analysis

  • advice regarding contractual disputes and litigation

  • valuations of buildings


In addition, we can provide a "watching brief" service on lump sum or turnkey projects which may include:

  • commenting on viability studies or project analyses prepared by others

  • commenting on tender or negotiation documentation or assisting in its compilation

  • commenting on tenders received and approving/finalising documentation prior to contract signing

  • approving valuations for interim payments prepared by others

  • approving the cost of variations and scope changes and final accounts prepared by others

  • commenting on budget reports prepared by others

  • attending site/management meetings as required

  • assisting with tenant installations

TIME MANAGEMENT AND PROGRAM CONTROL

SBDS Western Cape also offers professional time management and program control services, ensuring that projects are completed on time.   
 

Services provided include:

  • Checking and agreeing the construction program with the contractor to ensure that the base program conforms to all necessary requirements to allow for accurate monthly progress reporting

  • Providing information required schedules, based on the agreed program, and managing the information flow to ensure that the professional team meets all information deadlines as required by the program.  

  • Providing an early warning system for potential delays so that these can be mitigated or avoided
